About Hockey Pylons

At Hockey Pylons, we believe training equipment should evolve with the speed and skill of today’s game. For decades, players and coaches relied on cones and traditional pylons–but both came with serious limitations. Cones were light and portable but far too small to simulate real opponents. Standard pylons were taller but bulky, inconvenient to transport, and often lacked the durability needed for high-level training.

That gap in the game is what inspired the invention of the  Transformer Pylon  .

Our founder, John J.W.H., spent more than 20 years coaching hockey in Vancouver. Over those years, he experimented with countless training tools for his players but found most of them too cumbersome to bring to the rink. Like many in hockey, he also had a growing collection of spare sticks sitting unused. “I wanted to design something that was realistic, durable, and portable–and that could give old sticks a second life,” John explains.

After more than seven years of prototyping and testing, the first Transformer Pylon launched in 2023. By combining the portability of a cone with the strength and functionality of a pylon, it quickly proved itself as a game-changing innovation. Adjustable in height and reach, the Transformer Pylon can replicate everything from a young defenseman to a full-grown pro–providing players with a realistic, versatile training partner on the ice.

Sustainability is central to its design. The Transformer Pylon allows players to upcycle their old hockey sticks into training tools, extending the life of equipment that might otherwise go to waste. It’s innovation that respects both the game and the planet.

The 1.5cm thick, palm-sized anchor pylon has four grooves an can de uses by inserting a stick in the desired height and direction.

Its easy to move the pylons during training You can stack and archive pylons and two studs minimize movement from external impact If you don't have a stick, you can also use it as cone because you can put a puck in the bottom of the pylon.
